Mendeola MD Series Transaxles
The introduction of the Mendeola MD series transaxle changed the face of the off-road and sand car industries. Very reasonably priced for an aftermarket transaxle, the MD trans opened the door for higher horsepower, longer travel cars. These units are an evolution of the VW Type 1 transaxle, but with many improvements to eliminate the weak links in the VW design. The most notable improvement is the increase in ring & pinion size. All MD transaxles feature a 10" diameter ring and pinion, along with much larger differential gears. The Mendeola MD transaxles can be adapted for use with a large variety of engine packages and are suitable for many types high performance vehicles, ranging from off-road to drag racing.
Mendeola MD4E Transaxle
The Mendeola MD4E is the most economical aftermarket off-road transaxle. It features a 10" diameter ring gear and a much larger differential section than is used in VW transaxles.
