Goleta, California, June 9, 2011 — After three years of testing and development, Weddle Industries has introduced a completely new 9" clutch package designed specifically for the off-road market. Weddle’s customers wanted a clutch with the holding power and smooth feel of their large diameter (10.5" & 11") clutches, but it needed to be smaller so that it would fit in a “standard" bell housing. To achieve this, Weddle teamed up with clutch specialist Centerforce, utilizing their patented centrifugal weight system and ball bearing pressure plate pivots. Other unique features include a forged aluminum clutch cover, Centerforce’s proprietary DFX friction material, and a fully encapsulated sprung center hub to reduce driveline shock. All of this results in a clutch with exceptional holding power without sacrificing the smooth engagement and the responsive pedal feel of Weddle’s larger diameter clutches.
